Why support us
Support the textiles industry
We’re a team of dedicated volunteers running the Textile Skills Centre – from our Facebook communities and website to free monthly networking events. We’re here to support, guide, and inspire textile teachers, student teachers and students at all stages of their journey.
All our time and resources are given freely, but with your help, we can reach even more educators and keep growing our impact.

Training for all
Helping educators access affordable, high-quality skills development.

Textiles for wellbeing
Encouraging creativity and textiles as a tool for mental health.

Free resources
Keeping essential content, events and guidance open to everyone.

Supporting educators
Mentoring and empowering teachers, trainees and technicians at every stage.

Volunteer-led
Run entirely by teachers who freely give their time and expertise.
Support us
Get involved
There are various ways you can support our work. Here are a few:

Become an associate
Textiles Skills Centre Associates are a team of volunteers that manage the Textile Teachers Centre Facebook Groups and website, offer support, mentorship and advice to textile teachers and trainees. We organise free resource networking events each month and are always on hand to help and encourage when needed.

Develop a course
We are slowly building up our online courses and resources, but always looking for new trainers and course developers. If you have an idea for a course, you think others would love, then please do contact
us to discuss further.

Host an event
There is no better experience to learn new skills and build relationships with other enthusiasts than attending a workshop. So we continue to run face-to-face workshops across the country, currently generously hosted by secondary schools. We’re always looking for venues, so if you know a suitable place or school that would host an event/workshop, please let us know.

Write an article
Our library is slowly developing into a source for textiles knowledge. We are always looking for contributors to write articles, so if this appeals to you then please do get in touch. We are always open to ideas and new topics that will engage our textiles loving audience:

"Our goal is to empower both learners and teachers with affordable, inspiring courses, expert resources, and a supportive community that champions creativity, well-being, and lifelong textile skills."
